How much does it cost to fix a toilet?
With a plumbing job, there’s a price tag attached.
CBC News has found that plumbing, or drainage, is the most common reason a home is leaking and can cost up to $4,000 to $10,000.
A new sewer is needed to clean out the sewage or other waste from your home.
An estimated 20 per cent of homes that need to be repaired have not received their work done by the time they’re due to be paid.
It can be an expensive job, and can also be time-consuming.
“A lot of people don’t have the time or the patience to wait and see if there’s something in there that they can fix,” said Mark Clements, who works in Toronto as a sewer contractor.
The average home in the Greater Toronto Area will cost around $1,300 to $1.50 million to repair, according to an article from CBC News.
And even if it’s not the fault of the home owner, there is an expectation that repairs should be done by a professional.
When a home owner doesn’t receive their work completed, the damage can be costly.
One in three homeowners is experiencing a leak and can have a water problem, according the Toronto Water and Sewerage Services.
There are also times when repairs can take weeks or even months.
Water problems can occur if the water is contaminated, it’s stagnant or the water level is too low.
CBC’s Matt LeBlanc spoke to some of the homeowners who are experiencing problems with their plumbing.
