How to find a new home for your mansfield plumbing
The man who owns mansfield is about to get a lot bigger.
He’s going to make a big splash.
Man, that man is a big deal.
That’s the message from the mansfield homeowner who told ESPN Crikey the man who built the man-made wall will soon be making another one himself.
“I’m going to build a wall on top of my house,” said the man, who did not want to be named.
“It’s not the first time I’ve done something like this.
I’m getting the approval to make one myself.”
The man who bought mansfield’s original mansfield wall in 2015 had a bit of a change of heart.
“It was a big project, but I realised I’d got a problem with the material and the way I got it done.
I thought maybe I’d build another one, so I bought a better material and a better process,” he said.
The new wall is to be installed at his property in Mansfield, which is near Toowoomba, on the outskirts of Adelaide.
The man said he was planning to make his first wall for around $2,000 but he said he needed the help of a professional contractor.
“My first project was a $5,000 wall, but we have now got to a $15,000 one,” he told Crikeys.
“There’s a bit more work, but it’s not that hard to do.”
The new project is a bit different to the first one.
“We’ve been talking to our neighbours and other people who’ve done this,” he explained.
“A lot of the people who have done it are very knowledgeable and they’ve all got their own expertise and expertise and they know how to do the job.
They’re also all really experienced.”
The first wall was a lot harder to build.
The structure was built by a man called Tim Smith and his son, and was erected at the end of 2016.
The next step was to make the walls more durable.
“When you go through that, you realise it’s much easier to do a second job,” he laughed.
“You can build it again in about three weeks.
We just got rid of the wood and went to concrete.”
The second time we used a steel pole, but now we’re using PVC.
We can actually build it out of plastic, so you can see it’s pretty sturdy.
“He said he would like to have a bigger wall but it was expensive.”
That’s what’s going on with me right now,” he added.”
Our first project cost about $1 million, but then we realised we had to buy some material and put it into the wall.
“He’s now looking to raise the money to make another wall.”
For me, it’s going through the roof.
We’ve got a big plan for the next one,” Mr Smith said.”
But right now it’s a lot more expensive than the first project.
“If I don’t get the money now, I think I’ll just make it again, but that’s the plan.”
The project has raised $25,000 so far, but Mr Smith is hoping to raise more.
“One of the things we’re trying to do is raise $10,000 to get another wall,” he noted.
“In the next two weeks, we’re going to go back and get more materials and put them in the wall and that’s what we’re hoping to do in the next couple of weeks.”
Right now, it takes about three months to build out of PVC.
If you look at the price of that material, it will cost about two times as much as the $2 million.
“Mr Smith said he planned to keep building and he would not be deterred.”
All the time, I’m going out and doing the projects,” he joked.”
Hopefully we’ll be able to get some more money in.
“The mansfield man is happy with the progress he’s made so far.”
People have come up to me and said they’re happy with it,” he remarked.”
Everyone’s happy with what we’ve done so far.
